Special Offer : At the present time you can get a Bokashi Bin for half price from the Colchester Borough Council website

First manufactured in Japan in the early 1990’s and is popular in Australia and New Zealand.

Bokashi composts organic kitchen waste with no smell or fuss.

It is a mixture of friendly bacteria, yeast and fungi in a powdered bran form.

Add one or two handfuls to food waste in a sealed bin.

Bokashi mixture then ferments organic matter with no mess or smell.

The waste can then be directly added into the soil or compost heap where it will break down rapidly.

Bokashi can be obtained from many outlets including:-

? Did you know

Intensive farming has lead to the use of more artificial fertilisers and pesticides which kill the insects, birds and other animals feed on. Where habitat has become fragmented or degraded it has become increasingly difficult for many species to maintain breeding territories and forage effectively for food.
