Card & Paper Recycling for Colchester Schools

Colchester Borough Council offers a free cardboard and paper collection to all schools in Colchester. This is available on return of a letter stating that you would like free collection, along with a completed annual Duty of Care form for which there is a £30 charge to cover administration costs.

If you already have a normal waste collection with Colchester Borough Council and have paid the £30 Duty of Care, you do not have to pay an additional £30.

  •  Paper and card need to be flat packed, tied in bundles or contained in plastic bags for collection.

  • Flat pack the cardboard - it is very difficult to set alight to once flat-packed.

  • Waste will be collected every fortnight - you will be advised of the collection date when you join the scheme.

Containers for storage:

  • Eurobins available from Taylors (01299 251333)

  • Caged containers with wheels, 6ft tall, metal bottom and door which locks available from Palletower Ltd

  • Used roll pallets with a door cost £35; telephone Robert Duncan (01273421256).
