June Green Transport week ETA Green Transport Week...is a week of national events designed to encourage us to cut our dependency on the car. Based in June hundreds of local councils, environmental and transport organisations, schools, business and individuals participate in these campaigns, together working towards an environmentally sustainable transport system.

May / June National Bike Week Bike week incorporates the Bike2Work promotion which
will run for the whole week (rather than on a single day as in previous years).

The target is for 1,500 local events to attract 200,000 participants.
New event organisers will be warmly welcomed! All registered events will
be promoted on a new website (www.bikeweek.org.uk) and with co-ordinated PR.

Of the 20 million bikes in the UK only 6 million are used regularly

June National Glass Week National Glass week aims to remind consumers of the benefits of glass packaging, promote glass recycling, provide a media event promoting glass recycling.

ETA National Car Free Day...formerly part of Green Transport Week, Car Free Day has been so successful both in Britain, and across the rest of Europe, that it is now a Europe-wide day of campaigns held in September. Its aims are to promote viable alternatives to the car and to raise awareness by closing roads for that day.
