The Traders Fair Development Education Centre is based above the shop and is open for you to browse & borrow resources from 9.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Saturday.

Resources

Offers educational facilities based on CURRICULUM 2000 KEY STAGES 1-4.

The centre can help you develop a Global Dimension in the School Curriculum and has the following facilities:

  • a range of Teacher's Action Packs, books, posters and videos on development, environment, race and gender issues,- including material from Pamoja.

  • space for groups, workshops and exhibitions.

  • a link scheme between schools here and in Uganda which your school could join.

  • a shop on the ground floor selling a wide range of fairly-traded goods- foods, crafts, textiles and musical instruments - allowing customers to make choices that make a difference

Costs

Membership entitles you to borrow resources free on payment of a returnable deposit as follows:

Individuals and Voluntary Groups - £6 pa
Schools - £10 pa
Colleges - £15 pa
Non-members may still borrow on payment of a loan fee and the returnable deposit.

Other Information

The centre is happy to discuss and help out with any project on Fair Trade and are currently building up a network of schools, groups and members with a view to funding a Worker. Your support and interest will enable this to happen.
